And about 3 years ago an optional "Wifi" driver would not install and actually caused the Blue Screen of Death during bootup.

I just "Hid" it as I figure that driver was really incompatible with my machine. It was a very small file size, download in a second or two but would always fail to install. Well, this driver simply would not install. recommended, or optional as 99% of the time all goes well. Heck, just last week on my Win 7 machine an "Optional" driver update was available.I always install anything required. It was probably a buggy update that didn't like something regarding my machine (and other peoples machines), MS released an update patch and all was well then. This went on for about 10 days as I would try daily to get them to load even when trying manual installs.then one day they just installed. I googled the problem.once gain found other people who had similar problems and other who had no problems.

They would download but when beginning the install I would get an error.

I remember one time probably around 8 years ago one of my computers running XP at the time simply would not install several updates no mater what I tried. I sure know I've had problems over my computering life in getting certain updates to install. Buy hey, a person can google "anything" and come up with people who have have problems. I google you problem before I made my first post.you are not the only one having this problem, but not sure that provides any solace.
